In this immersive presentation our expert lecturer Jeff Wasson will explore the mysteries surrounding medieval weaponry and defensive gear, offering insights into their design, construction, and significance on the battlefield.

Throughout this program participants will gain a deeper understanding of the role arms and armor played in shaping medieval warfare and society. In conjunction with our exhibition Arms and Armor: Evolution and Innovation (on view now in the Changing Science Gallery) this program will discuss the evolution of weaponry to the tactics employed in battle, and promises to enlighten and entertain audiences of all ages.

About the Speaker:

Jeff Wasson is a full-time artist and educator, known worldwide for his historically accurate medieval and renaissance full plate armors. Wasson studied drawing, painting and sculpture at the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he now teaches metalworking.  As a professional armorer he builds suits for re-enactors, jousters, collectors, and museums.  For over 25 years Wasson has made and worn his own plate armor in various forms of medieval foot combat and jousting.  Jeff loves to share his experiences of history, arms and armor,  as well as building and making beautiful objects.
